Cookie Notice

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This notice lists the cookies and similar browser storage Everylink uses on everyl.ink, the dashboard and public profile pages, what each is for, and how to control them.

1. What we use

We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage items. We don't use advertising cookies, and our visit statistics are cookieless.

NameWherePurposeTypeDuration
better-auth.session_tokenCookie (everyl.ink and subdomains)Keeps you signed in to the dashboard and API.Strictly necessary60 days
better-auth.session_dataCookie (everyl.ink and subdomains)Short-lived signed copy of your session so pages load without a database lookup.Strictly necessary5 minutes
el_refCookie (everyl.ink)Remembers the referral link you arrived through so the referrer gets credit if you sign up.Functional15 days, cleared after sign-up
el_ref_v:<code>Session storageStops one referral visit being counted twice in the same tab.FunctionalUntil the tab closes
el_claimLocal storageCarries the page name you picked across the sign-in email round trip.Strictly necessaryUntil you finish claiming
everylink-query-cacheLocal storageCaches your dashboard data so it opens instantly; cleared when you sign out.FunctionalUntil sign-out
el:cacheOwnerLocal storageRecords which account the cached dashboard data belongs to, so a different sign-in on the same browser never sees it.Strictly necessaryUntil cleared
el:activeProfileIdLocal storageRemembers which of your profiles you were last editing.FunctionalUntil cleared
el:playground:v1Local storageSaves your edits to the demo editor on the home page (never sent to us).FunctionalUntil you press Reset or clear it
el_sid, el_u, el_rSession storage (profile pages)A random session ID plus the landing address and referrer, so a visit is counted once.AnalyticsUntil the tab closes
sentryReplaySessionSession storage (signed-in dashboard only)Links error reports and session replays to one browsing session.Analytics (error monitoring)Until the tab closes

On secure connections your browser may show the session cookies with a __Secure- prefix.

2. What the types mean

  • Strictly necessary — needed for something you asked for, like signing in. The site doesn't work properly without them.
  • Functional — remember choices and speed things up. Removing them won't break anything, but some convenience is lost.
  • Analytics — help count visits and diagnose errors. They contain no personal details and are cleared when you close the tab.

3. Third-party cookies

  • Cloudflare, which delivers our sites, may set security cookies such as __cf_bm to filter out bots.
  • Google Fonts serves a typeface on the sign-in and onboarding pages and receives your IP address when it loads; it doesn't set cookies for this. Our other pages serve their fonts from our own domain.
  • Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing portal pages, for fraud prevention and to process payments.
  • Profiles can embed videos (YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, Vimeo, Loom) and maps (OpenStreetMap). These providers may set or read their own cookies or storage when the embed loads, under their own policies.

4. How to control them

You can view and delete cookies and site data in your browser settings, and block them for everyl.ink. Blocking the session cookies will sign you out and stop the dashboard working; everything else will keep working. Signing out also clears the dashboard's cached data.
